About City College

City College is an independent residential college operated by the Dunedin City Tertiary Accommodation Trust, a charitable trust established to provide accommodation services to tertiary students studying in Dunedin. The Mayor of Dunedin officially opened the College on March 25th 2000.

City College is affiliated to both the University of Otago and Otago Polytechnic allowing it to offer services to students enrolled at either institution.

The Head of College is responsible to the Trust for the welfare of Residents and the running of the College.

City College offers an apartment-style complex with multi-bedroom units, each with a lounge, kitchenette and bathrooms.

Students also have access to newly refurbished, Common Areas including a large dining hall, two lounges, an exercise room, a library and multiple tutorial rooms.

Sporting & Social Activities

City College punches above its weight in participating in all the sporting and cultural events, organized between the colleges. Aswell as running our own comprehensive social and cultural program including the Great Race, Art Show, LEAP, movie nights, LaserTag, 48hr Film Festival and many others to cater for all interests.
